Out There
Life is short, so you better get on it.
This one started with some nonsense lyrics over a moody bass line. It turned into a call-to-action to stop waiting around for permission, stop waiting for inspiration, just stop waiting. Patience may be a virtue, but it is also a curse. If you don't put something out into the world, nothing will ever come of it. So I didn't give up on it. I pushed it and shaped it and maybe overworked it, but it still gives me the same chills as when I first listened back and heard a clear message through my nonsense. Now, it is out there. I hope it reaches you.
Lyrics
Night
The whole night in the distance
Beyond the trees
Singing like the world is worth it
Everything falls apart
Gotta make your move before it starts
Breaking down
Walls cover up my windows
Bleeding heart
Idle hands and broken arrows
All around it's in my head
It already came and went
Never have I heard before
A word of confidence then she said
Holy Mary
Mother of dreams
Stripped to the bone
Calling out to me
It's already in you
It's already in you
It's already in you
It's already in you
It's already in you
Just let it out
When everything falls apart
Gotta make your move before it starts
Get it up
Get it out
Put it out there
Stop your heart and hope die
Stick a needle in your eye
Find the devil in his hole
Ask him please to take your sole
It's not there, it's in your head
It's all of the things you never said
It's there when you feel the weight
Get it out before it's too lat
When everything falls apart
Better make your move before it's gone
Get it up
Get it out
Put it out there
Lights on the river
Showing me the way
Out from underneath
Of all the mess we made
